Asia Thomas was born in Athens, Georgia. She is a former candidate in the Athens- Clarke County Commissioner race and has played an active role in the Athens community through her nonprofit organization, United Community Outreach. In this Interview, Thomas discusses her passion for speaking and leadership. She talks about her relationship with her faith and healing from trauma and loss. Thomas also describes her motivations behind creating the programs within the United Community outreach and how it relates to her lived experiences. She details the books that she has written and the significance that writing has had on her life.
