Benjamin Edwards, who performs under the name Big Body, talks about his childhood in the West Athens neighborhood of Newtown, his early hip hop influences, and starting to record music in college. He talks about dropping out of school, going to prison, and maintaining his relevance in the hip hop scene. Edwards recalls the division that existed between different types of hip hop, its increased dissolution over time, and the current hip hop scene in Athens. He also discusses his thoughts about success, his mentoring of young artists in Athens, and his advice to them about work ethic and authenticity in producing music. He also mentions the role of the university as a networking resource for Athens music artists.
