Ken Richardson was born in Athens, Georgia and grew up in the Nelly B neighborhood on the eastside of Athens. He wrote his first rap while in middle school and later adopted the performance name Duddy Ken, through which he wrote and produced music with different groups like Lo’ Down and Duddy and Underground Sound. In this interview, Richardson talks about growing up in Nelly B, his introduction to hip-hop and rap, working with rappers around Athens, and the Athens hip-hop scene.
