Mark Cooper Smith came to Athens, Georgia to attend graduate school in 1982 from Cartersville, Georgia. Smith performed with the Squalls as the band’s drummer shortly upon his arrival. After leaving the Squalls, Smith played with the band 28 Days, previously an all-girls band. In this interview, Smith talks about his performing experience, releasing records, and his work as a music producer and the owner of the Oconee School of Rock.
