During college at Fitchburg State University, Ken Starratt gained an interest in the variety of music of the 1970s. Starratt came to Athens in the mid-1970s where he became involved in the Athens music scene. Starratt played the guitar in many bands including the Squalls and the Yams. In this interview, Starratt talks about moving to Athens, his life in Maine, the formation of the Squalls, parenting, and the Athens Human Rights Festival.
