Sylvanus Zeke Turner was born in Clarke County, Georgia, and has lived in Athens his entire life, currently performing as a solo Gospel singer. In this interview, Turner shares his experience with music in Athens and popular places in the black community. He explains his role and participation in the Gospel Music Workshop of America, the Civil Rights Movement, and the difference in main styles of gospel.
