Description
Yiceth Caicedo was born in Colombia and fled to Ecuador with her husband before she arrived in the United States in spring 2017 with her two young children. She had been in college studying sociology before she had to leave Colombia. Her husband remained in Ecuador until 2019. She lived in Jacksonville, Florida, before moving to Jubilee Partners in Comer, Georgia, in October 2017. Caicedo learned English at Jubilee Partners and at classes in Comer offered by Athens Technical College. She served as a volunteer at Jubilee Partners, then moved with her two children into a rental in Danielsville in 2019. She earned her welding license and worked as a welder. Her husband Javier joined her at the end of 2019 and they live with their children in Colbert, Georgia.
