Description
Dean Rusk describes Indochina's history and the early U.S. involvement in the region, first in Laos and then in Vietnam. He discusses treaty commitments in the Pacific as well as efforts to maintain peace in the area. In particular, he talks of the ruling parties in Laos and Vietnam, the Indochina War (Dien Bien Phu), and U.S. and French efforts to reach peace.
