Description
Larry Green was born and raised in Athens, Georgia. He attended West Broad street School, Lying Junior High, Burney Harris High School, and Clarke Central High School before furthering his education at Albany Technical School and DeVry University. In this interview, Green details the racial conflict that existed in Athens and the schools during integration. He describes his involvement in Civil Rights demonstrations and the significance that education and Black male teachers had on his life. Green also talks about the Vietnam War, the reactions of Black people to integration, and the role of Black police officers in the Black community.
