Charles Worthy was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Alabama State University in Montgomery, meeting his wife during his time there, and later moved to Athens for work. In this interview, he talks about his journey from a youth in Montgomery to becoming the president of the Clarke County School District Board of Education. Along the way he gives details about his time as a teacher, his achievements as principal of Cedar Shoals High School, and his role as president of the Board of Education. Throughout the interview he emphasizes the importance of education and the impact administrative decisions can have across a community.
