Mildred White was born in 1947 in the Rabbit Eye community of Athens near the current Oconee Heights area. In this interview, she discusses growing up in a rural community, her education, and the racism she has experienced throughout her life. White highlights the importance of higher education in her own life, as she attended Fort Valley College and Athens Technical College, and how she passed those values down to her granddaughter. She further reflects on her career and motherhood.
