Annie Mildred Sims Lyle was born in Athens, Georgia in 1944 and was raised in the Eastside. In this interview, she talks about her experience of earning an education amidst many obstacles. She describes how she was treated as a result of her becoming a mother in high school and the many difficulties she faced on her journey to earning both an undergraduate and Master’s degree in social work from the University of Georgia.
