Description

Susan Staley was born and raised in Indiana and moved to Athens in 1992 where she quickly found community within Athens’ folk and old time music scenes. In this interview she talks about her experiences with music in Athens, which include playing with multiple bands including Solstice Sisters, The Hobohemians, and String Theory Old Time Band. She has discussing organizing many of Athens’ folk music events, some of which include Athens Folk & Dance Society’s The Hoot, Georgia Mountain Stage, the North Georgia Folk Festival at Sandy Creek Park, and the Athens Farmers Market.
