MyKeisha Ross grew up and attended school in Athens, though her family has its roots in Ohio. Raised by a single mother, Ross had to look after herself and got her first job in the sixth grade. In school, she was very active in sports and loved basketball, which continues today. In this interview, Ross discusses her values, connection to the community, and how she has worked to improve the chances of success for at-risk and impoverished youth. She also criticizes the local government.
