Tammie Foote was born in Athens, Georgia in 1972 into the Bethel Homes community. Her family moved from there to Knottingham when she was beginning the first grade at Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary School. She then attended Clarke Middle School and Clarke Central High School. After graduation she had a child and attended Athens Technical College while working at The Poultry before settling on a career with the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services. In this interview she discusses her early education and upbringing in the Bethel Homes and Knottingham communities, her experiences in middle and high school and the jobs she held at that time. She also talks about her life and career after graduation, and how becoming a mother changed her life.
