Description

Patricia Huff was born in 1948 in Athens, Georgia. She was raised in the Reese Street community and attended Reese Street Elementary and North Athens Elementary. She then went to Athens High and Industrial / Burney-Harris High School, before graduating in 1966. She earned an undergraduate degree in education from Albany State College, two post-graduate degrees from the University of Georgia, and then began her 42 year long career as a teacher and guidance counselor. In this interview, Huff discusses her education in segregated schools and the teachers that made an impact on her. She also talks about her early childhood, the Civil Rights Movement in Athens, her career in education, and some of the influential people of Athens.
